Sioux Schuhe GmbH
About us
What began in 1954 in the Swabian town of Walheim has grown into an international success story built on craftsmanship, comfort and iconic design. Sioux was founded by Peter Sapper with the vision of bringing the moccasin to Germany – and over the decades, the brand shaped the market with innovations such as the Autoped driving shoe (1957), the intarsia design with rubber-studded sole (1958), and above all the legendary Grashopper (1964). With its distinctive moccasin character, comfort and casual style, the Grashopper became a defining Sioux icon.
Over the years, the original Sioux Grashopper has also quietly served as a source of inspiration far beyond the brand itself, with its unmistakable silhouette echoed in successful interpretations by other footwear labels.
Throughout the years, Sioux has remained a family-oriented company committed to quality – earning awards for its design, expanding globally, and collaborating with well-known figures such as Til Schweiger and Maite Kelly.
More than seventy years after its founding, Sioux is stronger than ever: deeply rooted in craftsmanship, trendsetting, independently owned, future-focused, and present in more than 25 countries with around 500,000 pairs of shoes sold annually.

THE LIGHTNESS OF THE MOCCASIN. THE SIGNATURE OF SIOUX.
The Sioux Spring/Summer 2027 collection embodies contemporary moccasin comfort, authentic craftsmanship and effortless modern ease. At its heart is a versatile loafer offering – ranging from clean, classic interpretations and playful moccasin styles featuring beads, fringes or tassels to premium woven designs.
Comfort-driven sneakers with subtle retro influences and innovative sole concepts combine lightweight wearability, outstanding comfort and contemporary dynamism. Summery sandals with soft cushioned footbeds ensure relaxed comfort on warm days, while elegant city and business styles add refined sophistication to the collection.
A true brand icon, the original Grashopper takes center stage. Developed by Sioux in 1964, its distinctive crepe sole and unmistakable design have shaped the brand’s identity for decades. The range is complemented by a unisex version featuring a foot-friendly natural last and a striking rubber sole.
The MokRunner styles merge the characteristic moccasin aesthetic with flexible sneaker soles, creating a successful fusion of casual modernity and ultra-light comfort.
The colour palette is fresh, natural and distinctly summery. Soft neutrals, shades of blue and green are enhanced by fashionable accent colours such as red, pink, orange and soft yellow. Premium leathers and selected functional textile materials define the collection and underline the brand’s commitment to quality.
The Maite Kelly x Sioux collection features sneakers in on-trend colourways and glamorous material combinations. Supported by the brand ambassador’s strong public profile and extensive reach, the collaboration generates additional visibility and consumer awareness.
For generations, Sioux has stood for the unique combination of moccasin expertise, craftsmanship and tangible comfort. The Spring/Summer 2027 collection continues this tradition with consistency, translating it into contemporary styles that offer strong relevance for specialist retailers and an attractive price-performance ratio.
